Multiple people in WWE have reportedly tested positive for coronavirus - including in-ring talent.

At least three people who had been at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando received positive test results for Covid-19 this week - although it has not been revealed how many of them are wrestlers.

That's according to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, which says testing will now be ramped up ahead of the next rounds of filming to ensure the virus hasn't spread among wrestlers or the production crew.

The report says production was shut down for a day last week after a developmental talent tested positive for the virus.

Everybody who had been in the Performance Center was then tested, with everybody who received a negative test result was allowed to return to resume filming.

At least some of those who have tested positive are described as 'in-ring talent'.

After announcing the news of the first positive test, WWE's associate medical director Dr. Jeffrey Dugas said: "A developmental talent, who was last on site at WWE's training facility on Tuesday, June 9, has tested positive for COVID-19.

"Since that time, no other individuals that attended the facility have reported symptoms.

"However, out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the health and safety of the company's performers and staff, all talent, production crew and employees on site at the training and production facilities will be tested for COVID-19 immediately.

"Following the test results, WWE plans to proceed with its normal television production schedule."

WWE said in a statement: "WWE will continue COVID-19 testing of its talent, production crew and employees in advance of TV productions for the foreseeable future.”

Former WWE champion Kevin Owens was absent from the most recent edition of Raw and, speaking on WWE's 'The Bump', Owens explained his absence was because of fears over coronavirus.

"Due to the circumstances that happened over the last week there with the positive coronavirus test that happened in the company, I thought it was just wiser for me to stay with my family on that day," he said.

"I told the people in charge my decision and they didn't even flinch. They were like, 'Yeah, ok.' That's it. There's no pushback.
