Eddie Hearn's first Fight Camp attracted almost ten times as many viewers as Frank Warren's show the night before.

Hearn put on his first card since the coronavirus crisis ground sport to a halt in March as he turned his back garden into a boxing venue.

The five-fight card was headlined by Ted Cheeseman's thrilling war with Sam Eggington which the former edged on points.

It also featured a disciplined performance by Jordan Gill and stoppage wins for Fabio Wardley and James Tennyson.

And early viewing figures suggest an average of 93,000 fans tuned in on Saturday night with a peak audience of 202,000.

Twenty four hours earlier, Warren hosted his third post-lockdown show as Lyndon Arthur outpointed Dec Spelman to set up a shot at Anthony Yarde.

But the card averaged just 3,000 viewers with a peak of 26,000 tuning in to the card held at the BT Sport studio.

Warren had been first out of the starting blocks once lockdown had been lifted but even the presence of unbeaten heavyweight Joe Joyce last weekend brought in an average of just 10,000 viewers and a peak of 24,000.

Hearn meanwhile has spent £1million turning Matchroom HQ into a temporary arena for his four fight nights which will culminate in Dillian Whyte vs Alexander Povetkin.

He is splashing out a further £4m on purses and expects to make a loss overall.

"I'm a hardcore boxing fan and to hear it up close with that intensity was fantastic," Hearn said. "There's so much to learn and get feedback on but in terms of the fights it was incredible, and it delivered well beyond my expectations."

Hearn returns on Friday with a five-fight card headlined by Terri Harper's world title defence against Tasha Jonas while Warren hosts his next show on August 15.

Carl Frampton and Michael Conlan will feature in tick-over fights as they look for bigger challenges later in the year.
